A performance about a special friendship in a modern household
Sas and her father's house is full of gadgets. The morning paper reads itself, the refrigerator comes to bring the drinks, the trash can cleans up the mess and puts itself out every Wednesday. Everything in the house moves by itself. Totally convenient. But Sas is missing something: a friend. She doesn't find it easy to make friends. She can't talk to her father about it. He spends all day behind his computers on video calls.
Everything changes when she comes home with Ravi. Not just anyone, because Ravi is a robot with a will of his own. Ruthless, stubborn and from now on her best friend. Sas and Ravi are always together, an inseparable duo. It drives her father crazy. What should he do with this new family member? Because let's face it ... robots don't live, do they? Or do they?
Ravi the Robot is a swinging, musical family show featuring singing robot pets and dancing devices. Marcel Osterop, Whitney Sawyer, Yung-Tuan Ku, Georgi Sztojanov and a real robot take you on an adventure where the world turns upside down and you don't know who is controlling who anymore.
Ravi the Robot is a co-production of Theater Sonnevanck and Silbersee, in collaboration with Universiteit Twente.
"In Ravi the Robot (5+), technology and unmistakably human performance come together beautifully (...) The witty voice work of tenor Georgi Sztojanov perfects and disrupts the fiction" - Theaterkrant
"Amazing how the decor was musically accompanied" - Go-Kids
"A very funny and beautiful performance" - Kidsproof
