In 2014 Slagwerk Den Haag, in collaboration with Club Guy & Roni and Silbersee, developed the dance/musical theater performance Naked Lunch, based on William Burroughs' novel of the same name. During Lunch Music, the score Yannis Kyriakides composed for the performance will be played in a concert version.

Kyriakides on the composition (freely translated): 'The concept of the music revolves around the idea of the polyphony of voices in 'Naked Lunch'. Voice deconstructed in sound, text, expression and communicative gesture. As in the narrative sense in Burroughs' work, the voices in this piece are transmitted through the switching of persona, and in contrast to the physicality of the subject, they are often presented through a form of disengagement.'

There are several pop songs from the 1950s and 1960s used in the work and these are: "Shakin' All Over" by Johnny Kidd and the Pirates, "I've Had It" by the Bell Notes and "Greenfields" by The Brothers Four.

Prior to Naked Lunch, you can enjoy KOnStruCt.22 at Korzo Studio at 8 p.m. for free.
